What is the ruling regarding a husband's disregard for his wife and daughters and his pursuit of divorce without providing them with a home, knowing that the wife cannot go to him due to the difficulty of residency and living expenses, and she does not wish to resort to the courts?

Polygyny is permissible for whoever is able to be just. As for him who is not just between his two wives, he will come on the Day of Resurrection with his side leaning or fallen. If the husband is unable to be just and the wife wishes to remain, there is no blame on her and no sin on him if the wife accepts favoritism and relinquishes some of her rights, as Sawdah bint Zamʿah did when she relinquished her day to ʿAʾishah. We advise the wife not to seek divorce and to relinquish some of her rights for the greater good, unless she fears trials in her religion, harm to her body, or disgrace to her honor. In such cases, divorce is more preferable. The wife should remain in the husband's residence because it is a home for her daughters.
