Emission of semen through thought does not invalidate the fast according to the majority of scholars. However, practicing the forbidden act of masturbation after nocturnal emission due to thought invalidates the fast and necessitates making up the fast if semen is emitted. If semen is not emitted, the fast is not broken. If semen is emitted involuntarily while reciting the Qur'an without any intervention, the fast remains valid.
