The question

What is the ruling on the fast of one who intended to observe a supererogatory fast while she was pure but had not performed ghusl? Is it permissible for her to repeat that? And is it permissible for her to shorten and combine prayers every day due to her travel for work?

The answer

A menstruating woman's fast is not valid unless she becomes pure before the break of dawn. If she becomes pure after the break of dawn, her fast for that day is not established, and she is not required to make it up. However, if she becomes pure before the break of dawn, it is permissible for her to intend to fast, even before performing the ritual bath (ghusl) from menstruation.

Regarding shortening and combining prayers (qasr and jam'), if the distance traveled reaches the distance for shortening prayers (approximately 83 kilometers), it is legislated for her to shorten the Dhuhr and Asr prayers and combine them, either by performing them earlier (taqdim) or later (ta'khir).
