Is it permissible to wish for death and despair due to an inability to refrain from continuous sin, for fear of committing other sins, or apostasy, or disbelief?

Man's intellect is limited and his knowledge is meager. He may dislike what is good for him and love what is evil for him. For this reason, one must submit to Allah's judgment and wisdom. Entertaining a negative opinion of Allah may be worse than the sin itself and can lead to despair of His mercy, for Allah is as His servant expects Him to be. Desiring death to escape sin is a fallacy, for a long life increases the believer in goodness. The door of repentance is open, and the servant must be characterized by sincere determination and devotion, and Allah will help and guide him. One should also increase in supplication and seek righteous companionship.
