Is the ghusl valid if the hands were not washed during ghusl from janabah due to ignorance of this ruling?

There are two types of ghusl (ritual bath) for janabah (state of ritual impurity):

1. Complete Ghusl: This includes the intention (niyyah), saying "Bismillah" (in the name of Allah), washing the hands three times, removing impurities, performing wudu (ablution), pouring water over the head three times while running fingers through the roots of the hair, then pouring water over the rest of the body starting with the right side and rubbing the body, and finally washing the feet after moving away from the washing spot. It is recommended to run water through the roots of the hair and beard before pouring water over them.

2. Sufficient Ghusl: It is sufficient to pour water over the head and body once, along with rinsing the mouth and nose, and having the intention for ghusl and wudu, even if wudu is not performed separately. This ghusl is sufficient despite omitting the preferable steps.

If one does not wash their hands before commencing the ghusl, it does not invalidate it as long as water covers them during the bath. However, if water does not reach them at all, the ghusl is not valid, due to not covering the entire body with water.
