Writing the list of movables (furniture and other household items) is a matter of custom and agreement between the spouses. There is no objection to writing it in the manner your parents desire, provided there is mutual consent between you, your wife, and her family. However, if your wife and her family do not agree to this and stipulate that all furniture and gold be listed, you may consent to their request, even if your parents are displeased; this matter concerns you, and it causes them no harm.
