What is the ruling on celebrating the honorable Prophet's birthday? And when and where was Imam Al-Shafi'i born and when did he die, and what was his creed?

Al-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, was born in Gaza in the year 150 AH and passed away in Egypt in the year 204 AH. He was an Imam among the Imams of Ahl al-Sunnah wal Jama'ah. Imam Ahmad considered him the renewer of the second century, in accordance with the hadith: "Indeed, Allah will send to this Ummah at the head of every hundred years someone who will renew for it its religion." Much of his speech encouraging adherence to the Sunnah has been transmitted from him.
