The answer

If your father is mistaken, it is not permissible to help him in falsehood or to pay a bribe on his behalf to invalidate a right or a Sharia-prescribed penalty, for Allah Almighty says: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression," and He says: "And do not consume your property among yourselves wrongfully, nor hand it over to the authorities," and because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah has cursed the one who gives a bribe and the one who takes it." You must honor him and try to prevent him from injustice and error with politeness and gentleness, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or oppressed," and helping the oppressor was explained as preventing him from oppression. And you must help him with your money if he needs it to repay a debt.
