Is it permissible to benefit from trees on public roads owned by the government, such as taking their fruits and leaves?

It is permissible to benefit from trees planted in public roads, unless prohibited by the responsible authorities. Sheikh Ibn Jibreen issued a fatwa allowing eating from them because they were placed for decoration and beauty and are not protected. It is preferable to leave them until they ripen.
