What are the matters that must be disclosed to a suitor about his fiancée concerning her religiosity and character, which it is impermissible to conceal, especially if the fiancée smokes, is negligent in prayer, and has previously uttered the phrase "Allah is unjust"?

The majority of jurists believe that the defects which must be disclosed during an engagement are those that prevent intercourse or are repulsive and contagious diseases. If a suitor proposes to your sister, you are not obligated to inform him of any defects other than those mentioned, and you must conceal her faults.

However, if the suitor asks you about her, it is not permissible to lie. Yet, do not tell him anything that would dishonor her. It is sufficient to say to him: "She is not suitable for you." It is incumbent upon the guardian to conceal grave sins that dishonor, for the sake of concealment and to prevent her from being married.

Strive to reform your sister and help her repent from blasphemous statements, negligence in prayer, and smoking. If she repents and becomes upright, you are not obligated to inform the suitor of her past sins. Rather, it is obligatory to conceal her faults, for repentance wipes away what preceded it.
