Is it permissible to name a newborn female "Rusul"?

The criteria for names prohibited by Islamic law are: 1. That they involve servitude to other than Allah Almighty. 2. That they are names or attributes exclusive to Allah, Glory be to Him. 3. That they contain self-praise, dispraise, or ugliness.

Other than these, there is no objection to naming with them. Therefore, the name "Rusul" is permissible, though it is preferable to name after the women of the righteous predecessors.
