The divorce of a person suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder (waswas) is not valid and is not considered legally sound. Scholars have made an exception for the divorce of the "موسوس" (one afflicted by waswas), the mentally incapacitated, and one who is coerced, because such a person does not intend the divorce, and it occurs against his will.
