Is a married man with children, who is about to marry a second wife after paying the dowry, required to give his first wife money or anything else?

If a husband has more than one wife, he is only obligated to be just between them in terms financial support (nafaqa) and overnight stays (mabit). However, if he appeases his first wife with money or gifts, that is good, and he will be rewarded for it.
