The seller of alcohol must repent to Allah and donate the money earned from its sale to the general welfare of Muslims, based on the : "Indeed, when Allah Almighty prohibits the consumption of something, He also prohibits its price." It is permissible for him to keep from it what suffices him and his dependents if he is poor, as mentioned by Al-Ghazali.
