It encourages persistence in seeking knowledge and understanding the religion, and advises sincerity of intention towards Allah and piety towards Allah in secret and in public. This is because sincerity is a condition for the acceptance of deeds, and piety helps distinguish between truth and falsehood and grants insight. It also advises companionship with people of knowledge and a gradual approach to seeking knowledge.
