Does attending university lectures conflict with seeking religious knowledge, and is prioritizing the former over the latter considered forbidden?

Religious knowledge is divided into an individual obligation (fard al-ayn), a communal obligation (fard al-kifaya), and a recommended act (mustahabb). A person sins if they neglect an obligation or commit something forbidden without necessity. Therefore, knowledge that is an individual obligation, such as the rulings of prayer and fasting, must be learned immediately and prioritized over worldly sciences. Its obligation is further confirmed when one intends to act upon it. As for knowledge that is not an individual obligation, there is no harm in prioritizing worldly knowledge over it, and it is commendable to consider the benefit therein.
