Is it required to utter the intention when slaughtering a votive offering, or is a heartfelt intention sufficient?

Since the slaughter was performed with the intention of fulfilling the vow, the fulfillment has been achieved. Vocalizing the intention is not a condition, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Actions are but by intentions, and every man shall have but that which he intended."
