Is it permissible for women to follow a funeral procession while inside cars without dismounting, provided they refrain from loud wailing or lamentation?

It is disliked for women to follow funerals, and there is no difference between them dismounting from cars or remaining in them. This is due to what Umm Atiyah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: "We were forbidden from following funerals, but it was not made obligatory upon us."
