Why do we fast the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah? And is the fasting of each of these days linked to a specific event, such as fasting the first day for the forgiveness of Adam's sin, the second for the answering of Yunus's prayer, and the third for the answering of Zakariya's prayer?

The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are considered the best days in the world, and righteous deeds performed during them are more beloved to Allah. Authentic hadiths have been narrated regarding their virtues, including the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “No deeds are better than deeds done in these days.” They said, “Not even Jihad?” He replied, “Not even Jihad, except for a man who goes out (for Jihad) risking his life and wealth, and does not return with anything.” It is also authentically reported that he (peace and blessings be upon him) fasted the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah. As for what is mentioned regarding specific occasions for each day among them, nothing has been authentically reported; rather, these are fabricated and false narrations with no basis. The general virtue of these days, as established in Islamic law, is sufficient to highlight their excellence.
