If the muezzin gives the call to prayer () at the break of dawn, or if the break of dawn is known by any other means, then whoever is eating or drinking must spit out what is in their mouth and complete their fast. Their fast is valid, and there is no need for a make-up fast. However, if they continue to eat or drink, their fast is invalid, and they must make it up.
