It is not permissible for stationery shop owners to infringe upon the rights of others by photocopying and preparing research that is prohibited from being copied. Similarly, it is not permissible for students to cooperate with them in sin and aggression. The rights holder is entitled to demand their right and either seek satisfaction or file a case with the responsible authorities for compensation. The sin of the students is lighter if the photocopying is for personal benefit and seeking knowledge. Some scholars permit copying and photocopying for those who seek personal benefit and knowledge, especially if the price of the book or notes is exorbitant.
