Are the symptoms the wife is experiencing – such as frequent painful dreams of jinn, difficulty trying to recite Quranic verses in dreams, constant sadness, a desire to cry, and frequent illness – considered symptoms of spiritual possession (mass), magic (sihr), or the evil eye ('ayn)? And what is the appropriate treatment for this condition?
To get rid of worry and sorrow, it is recommended to resort to Allah through supplication, asking Him for well-being, and to be patient in tribulation while reflecting on its virtues. Also, frequently remembering Allah brings tranquility and repels misfortunes. Moreover, maintaining prayer and reciting the Qur'an bring steadfastness and serenity. If disturbing dreams and difficulty in reciting Ayat al-Kursy and the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas) indicate the presence of an evil eye, jinn possession, or magic, then the treatment is through shar'iyyah (Islamic exorcism). It is preferable for the woman to perform ruqyah on herself, while being wary of charlatans and sorcerers.
