What is the ruling on working for a company that deals with interest-based loans, and what is the ruling on ensuring the accuracy of its documents and records, given the possibility of avoiding direct dealing with the financial administration?
If your work does not involve dealing with usury or prohibited matters, then it is permissible. However, if the company deals with usury, it is better to leave it. It is not permissible to write down, document, or supervise usury, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses, and he said: 'They are all equal [in sin],'" and because it involves cooperation in sin and aggression. What is obligatory upon you is to advise the officials and to avoid supervising usurious records and documents, and everything that aids in disobedience.
