Did the angels marvel at the supplication: "O Allah, I ask You for enduring faith, and I ask You for a humble heart, and I ask You for beneficial knowledge, and I ask You for true certainty, and I ask You for an upright religion, and I ask You for well-being from every affliction, and I ask You for perfect well-being, and I ask You for gratitude for well-being, and I ask You to be in no need of people"?

The supplication mentioned was cited by Al-Laknawi in his book "Al-Athaar Al-Marfoo'ah fi Al-Akhbaar Al-Mawdoo'ah" when he discussed the prayer for preserving faith. He did not, however, mention the angels' astonishment at it, nor has any scholar authenticated it. Thus, it appears to be weak. Some of its phrases have been reported in authentic hadiths, such as the Prophet's supplication after the dawn prayer: "O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds."
