The answer

The obligatory pillars (arkan) of Wudu' are: washing the face (which includes the mouth and nose), washing the hands up to the elbows, wiping the head, washing the feet up to the ankles, observing the proper sequence (tartib) between these limbs, and performing them in continuous succession (muwalat). As for the recommended practices (sunan) of Wudu', they include: using the Siwak, washing the hands three times at the beginning of Wudu', rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nose before washing the face and doing so thoroughly for those who are not fasting, running water through a thick beard and between the fingers and toes, starting with the right side (tayamun), and washing more than once up to three times. It is also recommended to recite the prescribed remembrance (dhikr) after Wudu'.
