The aforementioned hadith was narrated by Ahmad, An-Nasa'i, Ibn Hibban, and At-Tabarani. Al-Haythami said: Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, and Abu Ali At-Tusi graded it as hasan (good), and Al-Albani mentioned it in his book As-Silsilah As-Sahihah. Scholars interpreted the hadith "Whoever fasts perpetually, Hellfire will be constricted for him" to mean that it applies to one who fasts the entire year, including the days of Eid and Tashreeq, thus he will not enter it. Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah included it in his Musannaf under the chapter "Disliking Perpetual Fasting," and Ibn Hazm interpreted it as a strict prohibition and a warning against perpetual fasting.
