The answer

This issue is a matter of disagreement among scholars. According to the Shafi'i school (which is the more cautious view), a person afflicted with chronic discharge must renew their istibraa', fasten their bandage, and perform ablution after the prayer time begins. However, according to the Hanbali school (which is the more lenient view), only ablution is required after the prayer time begins, without renewing the washing of the area or fastening the bandage. There is no harm in adopting this opinion.
