What is the ruling on a wife cutting her hair, given that her husband made her divorce conditional upon her doing so while angry? Does the divorce take effect if she does that after he has consented?

If a husband conditions his wife's divorce on her cutting her hair before three months have passed, and she cuts her hair within this period, then divorce occurs according to the majority of scholars, and this is the most preponderant opinion. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said: He is liable for an expiation for breaking an oath if he did not intend divorce but rather prevention or threat. The husband retracting his oath is not valid according to the majority of scholars, whereas Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah holds that it is valid.
