What is the ruling on threatening parents with leaving the house to silence them?

Among the acts of disobedience (Uquq) is severe mistreatment of parents through blackmail and threatening them with anything, for threatening contradicts the reverence, veneration, and kind words commanded towards parents, as Allah the Almighty said: "So do not say to them, 'uff,' and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word." Parents have a special status regarding advice, enjoining good, and forbidding evil; they should not be treated harshly or spoken to roughly. Scholars have mentioned various forms of Uquq, including: making parents cry, staring intensely at them, walking in front of them except to remove harm, calling them by their first name, pushing their hand away if they strike one, introducing things that grieve them, a man sitting with his father before a ruler, establishing an argument against them and triumphing over them in speech, and disobeying them if they command something. Therefore, it is not permissible for a son to threaten or blackmail his parents, even if his living separately from them is permissible as long as it causes no harm.
