Must a wife give the key to her private room to her husband's family, and what are the limits of her privacy in her home?

Islam has guaranteed a woman rights over her husband, among which is the provision of an independent dwelling for her, where she can feel secure concerning herself and her affairs. Jealousy may arise between the wife and the husband's family, and the husband's role is to balance the rights of his family to kindness and maintaining kinship ties, with the rights of his wife to good companionship and providing a peaceful life. Parents or relatives have no right to interfere in marital life or the wife's privacy except with her consent, and a mother has no right to impose her control over her son's wife. It is the wife's right to maintain her privacy, such as locking a room when traveling, and the husband has no right to prevent her from doing so or consider it an act of disobedience to his mother. The wife, in turn, should maintain good relations and show kindness to her husband's family out of respect for him.
