Is there a Hadith stating that the niqab is exclusively for married women, enabling men to distinguish between them and unmarried women?

Wearing the niqab, or any equivalent that achieves the religiously required covering, is equally obligatory for both married and unmarried women. There is no distinction between them in this ruling, and there is nothing that specifically applies to married women to the exclusion of others.
