Is it permissible for a son to take from his parents' Zakat money to furnish his home with the necessary furniture for marriage?

It is not permissible to give zakat to one's ascendants or descendants because some of them are obligated to spend on others. However, marrying off a child who is in need of marriage is not obligatory upon the parent according to the majority of jurists. Therefore, if the parent is not obligated to provide for their child's marriage, it is permissible to give the child from zakat funds for this purpose; in fact, they are more deserving than others.
