Is it permissible to abandon relatives who have withheld our rightful inheritance, consumed the property of orphans, and caused us material and moral harm?
Preventing one of the heirs from their share of the inheritance without their consent is an act of injustice and sin. The duty is to advise them and explain the gravity of the matter and the necessity of returning rights to their owners. It is permissible to mediate through some respected figures. If they do not desist, it is permissible to ostracize them if that serves as a deterrent and is not considered a severing of kinship ties. The permissible ostracism is that which leads to the weakening of evil, and beautiful ostracism is avoiding interaction without causing harm, and it is better than harmful interaction if the latter brings about religious or worldly harm.
