Is a young man subject to censure if he leaves his first fiancée, with whom he engaged in acts displeasing to Allah, after he met another girl and no longer harbored the same feelings of love for the first?

Seclusion between an engaged man and his fiancée is forbidden, as the fiancée is considered a stranger to him until the marriage contract is concluded. Anyone who has been in such a seclusion must repent. If fornication occurs, marriage is not permissible except after repentance and purification (ensuring no pregnancy). Engagement is merely a promise of marriage and it is permissible to break it, but it is recommended to fulfill it unless there is a legitimate Sharia reason for breaking it. If the parents refuse marriage to a specific girl, one should try to convince them; if their approval is not obtained, then she should be left. One should be wary of establishing unlawful relationships with girls.
