Consulting God for guidance () is recommended in marriage. The preponderant opinion is that a person should proceed with the matter after performing Istikhara and should not abandon it unless God diverts them from it. If the suitor is a man of religion and good character, and you can ensure your safety from contracting his illness by consulting doctors, then we advise you to complete the marriage. However, if you know that you cannot ensure the prevention of the disease's transmission to you, then it is preferable to withdraw from the engagement.
