Is it permissible to work as an electrician installing light fixtures in a commercial establishment that sells food products and alcoholic beverages for a wage?
There is no harm in dealing with a merchant who sells alcohol, and installing light fixtures for him in his shop, as long as the shop is not exclusively dedicated to selling alcohol, or if the sale of alcohol is not predominant in it. He should be advised to stop selling alcohol, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah has cursed alcohol, its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its presser, the one for whom it is pressed, its carrier, and the one to whom it is carried."
