Is it permissible to conduct experiments on pork for the purpose of university scientific research if it is an essential requirement for the study and there is no alternative?

Pork is impure, and deliberately smearing oneself with it without need is forbidden. However, if research into pork meat is beneficial to the Ummah and cannot be replaced by pure meats, then there is no harm in it. Otherwise, it is not permissible except in cases of necessity. If experiments can be conducted without direct contact, such as by using a barrier, then there is no harm.
