Smoking is forbidden due to the harm it causes and the waste of money involved, and because it falls under the general meaning of Allah Almighty’s saying: {And He makes lawful for them the good things and makes unlawful for them the impure things}. Smoking while listening to the Qur'an is even more forbidden and heinous, as it involves disrespecting the sanctity of the Qur'an and failing to observe its sacredness, and committing a sin in places designated for worship. Therefore, smoking must be avoided absolutely, and its abandonment is especially confirmed when drawing closer to Allah through remembrance, reciting the Qur'an, or listening to it.
