What is the expiation for breaking a day of Ramadan for someone unable to fast two consecutive months, how is its value calculated in US dollars, and is it permissible to give it to a charitable organization?

Whoever breaks their fast during Ramadan without a valid excuse must repent and seek forgiveness. If the breaking of the fast was due to sexual intercourse, then expiation is unanimously obligatory. It is, in order: freeing a slave; if unable to find one, then fasting for two consecutive months; if unable to do that, then feeding sixty poor people, giving each a mudd of the staple food of the land, which is approximately 750 grams. If it was by eating, drinking, or other means, then according to the majority of scholars, no expiation is required.
