Is the expiation for breaking the Ramadan fast by feeding 60 needy persons for one day's fast or for all the days of Ramadan?

The expiation for intentionally breaking the fast during Ramadan by sexual intercourse is to free a slave. If one cannot find a slave, then it is to fast for two consecutive months. If one is unable to do that, then it is to feed sixty poor people. This expiation is obligatory, according to the majority of scholars, only for those who break their fast by sexual intercourse. As for those who intentionally break their fast by eating or drinking, they only have to make up the fast (qada') along with repentance, without the obligation of expiation.

If expiation becomes obligatory, it is required for each day on which intercourse occurred. So, whoever engages in intercourse on two days owes two expiations. This is the view chosen by Al-Qadi and some scholars, differing from those who hold that it is a single expiation for the two days.
