Is it permissible to say that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was poor?

It is not permissible to describe the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as poor with the intention of belittling him, and the one who says such a thing must be disciplined. The Prophet was not poor in reality, for Allah enriched him, as He says: {And He found you poor and made you self-sufficient}. After his death, he left behind orchards and wealth. He also used to supplicate: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief, poverty, and the torment of the grave," and "Relieve us of debt and enrich us from poverty." His supplication: "O Allah, make me live as a miskin, make me die as a miskin, and resurrect me in the company of the misakin" refers to humility and dependence on Allah, and modesty and guarding against arrogance, not material poverty, because he passed away as a wealthy man.
