What is the ruling on not suppressing anger and arguing with one's mother upon witnessing discriminatory treatment? Is not helping the mother with household chores or not visiting her weekly considered disobedience to parents? What is the expiation for backbiting, and can Allah forgive it?

The status of parents is great. Allah has associated their right with His Right, and He has emphasized the right of the mother due to what she endured in pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. The mother is entitled to three-quarters of righteous treatment. Therefore, it is impermissible to disobey her by arguing with her or making her angry, for Allah has forbidden saying "uff" to parents. The mother must be just among her children in giving gifts, and if she falls short, she should be advised courteously. Helping and honoring the mother is done by offering her assistance even if she is not in need, and it becomes obligatory when she is in need. Visiting relatives has no specific period; rather, it is determined by custom in a way that maintains ties and negates قطع.
