What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a wife who confessed to her husband that she was alone with a non-mahram man and that a conversation and superficial touching occurred between them, knowing that the husband had previously told her: "If you touch my honor, you will be forbidden to me," and that he has three children with her, and that he was emotionally neglectful towards her?

Whoever is afflicted by a sin must conceal himself and not disclose it. Touching a foreign woman and engaging in lewd speech with her are both forbidden, and both are considered fornication of the limbs. The wife must sincerely repent for what she has done, and the husband must help her avoid meeting and being alone with foreign men. The husband erred by being deficient in his wife's emotional rights, and he must have sexual intercourse with her in a way that safeguards her chastity. The prohibition of the wife occurs according to the husband's intention: if he intended ẓihār (a type of divorce pronouncement), then it is ẓihār; if he intended divorce, then it is divorce; and if he intended an oath, then it is an oath.
