What is the ruling on a student receiving a salary being absent from school without an excuse?

A student should not be absent without an excuse.

If a student is absent, then their eligibility for a stipend for the days they were absent without an excuse refers to the conditions set by the school, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Muslims are bound by their conditions."

Therefore, one should refer to the school for inquiry. If they permit it, then it is permissible for him to benefit from the stipend. Otherwise, he must return it if it was disbursed to him by mistake, unless the responsible authority permits benefiting from it.
