The word "Namus" (الناموس) is used for several meanings, including: an insect, and Gabriel (peace be upon him) the bringer of revelation. Among its meanings are also: a small grayish creature resembling a speck of dust that harms people, the hunter's blind where he lies in wait, and the monk's cell. The word "Namus" is also used for a snare (trap), because it is concealed underground.
