Is it permissible to temporarily use hair extensions for an event if one's hair is unsightly?

It is forbidden to lengthen hair (hair extensions) or wear a wig, even temporarily, because of the curses mentioned against the woman who applies hair extensions and the one who has them applied, and the one who tattoos and the one who has a tattoo applied. Also, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it and said: "Indeed, the Children of Israel were ruined when their women adopted these practices." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not permit a woman whose hair fell out due to illness to lengthen it, which indicates the prohibition of hair extensions in all cases. This is considered among the major sins.
