Are the Sabians among the People of the Book, and is it permissible to eat their food?

The Mandaeans are not People of the Book, and their slaughtered animals are not permissible. As for their food that is not forbidden in our religion, it is permissible to eat it. Similarly, eating from their vessels is not objectionable unless they are impure or made of gold and silver.
