Is the call to prayer considered hypocrisy (riya') if the muezzin beautifies his voice to impress people, or if he asks others for their opinion of his adhan?

The adhan (definition) (call to prayer) is an act of worship that can be tainted by riya' (ostentation) if its purpose is to display the beauty of one's voice or to seek people's praise. The mu'adhin (caller to prayer) must intend to seek reward from Allah and rid his heart of riya'.

However, merely beautifying one's voice during the adhan is not riya'; rather, it is religiously encouraged, as evidenced by the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) statement: "Indeed, he has a more resonant voice than you." Scholars have deemed it desirable for the mu'adhin to have a resonant voice, meaning a higher, louder, more beautiful, and melodious voice.
