Cheating in exams is forbidden, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Whoever cheats us is not of us." If a person repents from cheating and masters the profession entrusted to him, then there is no objection to him working with the certificate. The conditions for repentance are: abstaining from the sin, regretting it, resolving not to return to it, and restoring rights to their owners if they pertain to the rights of people. As for the types of cheating in studies, they are numerous and include every act that violates the established regulations. There is no harm in using previous research if the requesting authority does not object, provided that the quotation is attributed to its author.
