We advise attempting to resolve the issue within the family, away from the courts, to protect the children and both families. If this does not succeed, you should turn to Allah through supplication. It is also recommended to offer advice to your husband through intermediaries and to treat him with kindness. It should be known that both parents have the right to see and visit their children, and visitation cannot be prevented. If an amicable resolution to the dispute is not possible, recourse to the Sharia courts is permissible. And if you had relinquished custody of the children due to the absence of suitable housing, you have the right to retract this relinquishment, as the right to custody returns once the impediment is removed.
